Harvey Centre Press Release
A new service which has been recently installed inside the Harvey Centre is proving a boon for visitors and shoppers in Harlow.
Visitors who find that they have left home with a mobile phone battery low or dead now need no longer worry that they will not be able to make or receive vital phone calls or messages. They will be able to charge their mobile phone/PDA/BlackBerry within ten minutes or so and the service is absolutely free.
The ‘Charge Angel’ inside the Harvey Centre is located opposite Superdrug, by the up escalator and within the first 6 weeks, 1,400 people took advantage of its service to recharge their phone batteries, and take a ten minute breather from their busy day! Indeed this unit has recharged over 3,500 phone batteries since its installation in December.
Centre Manager Bryan Young, “When Charge Angel’ approached us to be one of their test sites in the UK we leapt at the opportunity. We are always looking at ways of improving customer service and this is a simple, convenient way to ensure that everyone can stay in touch with their family, loved ones and work.
“After all, we all know what it is like to leave home, find your phone battery is dead and then receive half a dozen messages once the phone is recharged as there was something urgent that needed your attention. Usually these are calls from the kids needing ferrying to sport or home from school due to the rain, but sometimes they might be an emergency and it is vital that you can be contacted. I’m happy to say that we can help our customers stay in touch and avoid potential problems with the ‘Charge Angel’ now installed within the Centre.”
James Perry of Eye Spy Digital owners of Charge Angel said, “We are really excited about the opportunity to provide this free service to the clients of Harvey Centre. Especially as it was one of my local shopping centres when I was growing up and I am extremely glad it has been received so well.
“Our aim is to provide a free to use charging service by using screen technology to reach out to the community though digital out-of-home advertising with messages including job posts, local business ads and public service announcements. We are hoping to expand into another 15 shopping centres in the next few months and look forward to continuing to supply a great free service to the Harvey Centre’s customers."
